I was always encouraged to go to Church by my parents and at the age of 22 I committed my life to God, but I had only really been "going through the motions" of being a Christian.
I met God when my first marriage failed. I had a two year old daughter, Rachel and a three year old son, Matt. I didn't know if I would cope with being a single parent. The day my husband left me I cried out to God to show me if He was real. He did. He gave me love, strength to cope with each day and hope for the future.
The following year my mum was diagnosed with cancer. On the day of her operation, to remove the growth, God very clearly told me He would heal my mum. The operation was not a success and mum spent months having both chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Mum was not responding to the treatment and things got so bad that doctors told my dad to expect the worst. Mum and Dad both planned out Mum's funeral, but I clung on to God's promise that He would heal her... and He did! Within 3 months there was not a trace of cancer in her body! Even the doctors were calling my mum a miracle!
After a few years alone I met Nick and we were married. The following year our son, Joshua was born. God had totally turned my life around.
I have many favourite verses in the Bible. Joel 2v25 is one of them. It says "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten."
I have been involved in many areas of church life; Sunday school, Luncheon club supervisor, Beach missions, Parent and toddler groups, Bible study groups, Prayer groups, Women's meetings, organising social activities, etc.
I believe everyone matters in church life, from the youngest to the oldest.
I believe passionately in family.
I love to encourage others in their walk with God and I love to share my testimony telling others about the amazing God I serve!
