An aim of the Church is to develop and mobilise mature disciples. To help this we run five key Discipleship courses:

1. Encounter Weekend is an opportunity to carry out a review of your life - things that you have done or have been done to you - that could hinder your growth and your service for God. It is an intensive 48 hours led by an experienced team. Angie Hamilton organises this.

2. Freedom in Christ a teaching series based John 8:32 "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free", which leads to a counselling course "Steps to Freedom" to help individuals deal with life issues by applying the truth of God's Word to them.

3. Network a four week course based on material produced by the Willowcreek Church (USA), aimed at identifying your passions, gifts and ministry style. It is followed by an interview to help you find your place of service, be that in the church structure or out of it. Steve Cosgrove is in charge of this.

4. Contagious Christian is a another four week course from Willowcreek Church. This is a personal evangelism course.

5. Omega Course is our membership course. It covers the national and local Elim setup, our beliefs, vision and programmes as well as defining what we believe church membership is.

Our definition of Discipleship is: deal with the past, know who you are in Christ, be able to witness to others, be a committed church member.
