We run a student group that meets fortnightly after the Sunday evening service, from about
8:30pm to
10:30pm.
The group meets informally in the home of our student coordinators
Colin and
Sue Garner, next to campus:
Colin & Sue Garner
40 Fairmount Drive
LE11 3JR
Colin and Sue were both former students at Loughborough. Colin works on
Campus and is on the advisory committee for Revive, FES and CCF. Sue is a
counsellor and they have three children.
Why not come along for some
coffee,
cakes, chat,
prayer and
Bible discussion! We aim to tackle
issues that concern you. Lifts can be arranged after the evening service at
Elim Church Centre. Whatever Church you decide on, why not come along? We
would love to get to know you.
The Elim Church Centre is very popular with Loughborough students,
with many former students staying with the church after graduation.
Within the life of this fellowship, students are regularly involved in the
following areas of Church life:
-
Connect Groups - (our cell group
expression of Church) meet in homes throughout the town, on either a Tuesday, Wednesday
or Thursday.
Many students have found these helpful.
- The East Midlands
School of Christian Ministry
offers a shorter course for students. This is a Biblical and Theological
course with reduced fees for students, that meets once a month on a
Saturday morning.
- Our Worship Group practices on a Thursday evening
(7:30pm - 10:00pm), and
singers & musicians are always welcomed.
If you are interested in any of these, we will do all that we can to integrate you
into our activities - e.g. Connect groups, young peoples work, worship group, etc.
The church building is within easy walking distance from the University campus.

Student membership is available after three months of attendance. Our aim is
not to replace your home fellowship but to give you support while you study
here. Our goal is to see you grow and develop in your knowledge of scripture
and your walk and witness. Please talk to one of the elders if you wish to
know more.
And finally... Fusion. This exciting
initiative links cells in the Halls of Residence with the local Churches. This is being done using Fusion material. We encourage you to join a cell and play your part in reaching
out to the student community.
