Elim Church Centre - Loughborough
Hope08 is a nationwide initiative which is derived from past activities such as "Soul in the City". In response to this, the churches in Loughborough are planning a range of activities during 2008 to practically demonstrate the love of God in the Charnwood community.

It will involve a leaflet drop to every household
in the town using the same two week window as the Salvation Army
collection (8th - 21st Sep).
In addition, there will also be stacks of posters available for display in front
windows, porches, cars, etc.
There are a number of members that have indicated their willingness to
be involved. In addition to training, they are required to raise £250
towards the training and a uniform. For some that is quite a challenge,
so if you are approached to help sponsor them, prayerfully consider
doing so.

Hope Explored
Town wide the Churches are working
together for a big push to promote "Hope Explored", an
opportunity to invite family, friends and beyond to an Alpha
course or an equivalent.
Street Pastors
If you want to be involved in this
project as a prayer partner or a supporter/sponsor,
please contact the
Church Office.
There is a monthly prayer event on the last Tuesday of every month
throughout 2008. Put the dates in your diary and plan to attend at least one
of the prayer times each month. The next date is

At a special Townwide Prayer meeting in 2007, a
crafted prayer was written that we will all be praying throughout 2008:
One thousand outstretched arms, demonstrating how big the love of Christ is.
Make us determined to be one,
using the gifts you have given to the whole church in this town:
speaking with one voice; loving with one heart;
washing the feet of the town; reaching the vulnerable,
touching the lives of young people; seeing the forgotten places;
connecting the people of Loughborough to the love of Jesus.
So keep us humble, with soft hearts and clear vision,
so that at the end of 2008, we will have been faithful,
as you are to us.
