Hope House is run by Elim Church Centre, and aims to provide good
quality hostel accommodation for homeless young women, aged between about 16
and 25 years old.
The three-bedroom house is adjacent to the Church building and can house up
to three females.
The Hope House project gives help to women who have been made homeless,
but cannot get council or Housing Association accommodation. Hope House provides
a bridge for them, offering short to medium term accommodation, while they apply and
wait for a more permanent solution.
It is a safe breathing space with warden support to give girls time
to get themselves sorted. Most of them have been forced to leave their homes
for some reason. Some will come from violent or abusive backgrounds.
The aim is
to help them get established before they move on to more permanent accommodation.
The women are helped to prepare a place of their own and to have the
confidence to deal with the challenges of everyday living. We also offer advice in life skills,
such as cooking and budgeting.
The project has been running for several years,
and has helped many young women during this time.
Please email the
Church Office or speak to Alison Eames (Hope House Warden) for further information.
Application is made through the Bridge Housing Advice Centre,
Lantern House, 38 Leicester Road, Loughborough, LE11 3BA.
