A Marriage Course is planned for St. Peter's Community Centre on
Mon 7th Apr 2008 for 8 weeks (except
26th May), and ending on 2nd Jun.
The course is designed to make good marriages stronger, although it can also
help those whose marriages are under strain.
The course was set up in 1996 and is run all over the UK. It is a companion
to the Alpha Course, and is designed to
be a series of evenings - rather like going out together for a special meal
for quality time.
No group work is involved, apart from the meal and the talks. The exercises
and preparation are done exclusively between couples. It is equally
available for those with Church and no-Church background.
A strong marriage must grow and be flexible - to deal with changing
circumstances, e.g. birth of children, financial changes, bereavement,
redundancy, children leaving home, etc. Marriage preparation just doesn't
cover this range of issues.
The course builds on each session, so for example it would be difficult to
tackle 'communication' without first having covered 'building
strong foundations'. Therefore a commitment to attend all sessions is
expected.
Please contact the
Church Office
if you would like to sign on.

A PRAYER FOR LOUGHBOROUGH Lord we want your church to be visible in Loughborough.
One thousand outstretched arms, demonstrating how big the love of Christ is.
Make us determined to be one,
using the gifts you have given to the whole church in this town:
speaking with one voice; loving with one heart;
washing the feet of the town; reaching the vulnerable,
touching the lives of young people; seeing the forgotten places;
connecting the people of Loughborough to the love of Jesus.
So keep us humble, with soft hearts and clear vision,
so that at the end of 2008, we will have been faithful,
as you are to us. Amen.
